The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is "exceptional care, healthier lives." This role provides advanced administrative and clerical support to the Head of Department and day-to-day supervision of administrative staff of the Outpatient Service. It also coordinates administrative systems and procedures to enable the department to achieve objectives and deliver high-quality frontline patient/customer service in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced administrative and clerical support to the Head of Department.
  • Supervise administrative staff of the Outpatient Service, including priority setting and task allocation.
  • Coordinate administrative systems and procedures to support department objectives and high-quality patient/customer service.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience providing a wide range of high-level administrative services in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to write accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence with strong attention to detail.
  • High-level interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and judgement to solve problems.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team in providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in computers and standard office software, with the ability to learn new systems as required.
  • Experience supervising and supporting a team, prioritising tasks, coaching and monitoring performance to achieve objectives.
  • Knowledge of patient billing practices.
