Bunbury, Western Australia at Full time
Non-Executive Director of the Board of Management

The South West Catchments Council trading as South West NRM (SWNRM) is an incorporated, profit-for-purpose organisation with charity status, based in the South West of Western Australia. It has been operating for over 20 years and is recognised as the peak natural resource management (NRM) organisation of the South West NRM region of WA.

SWNRM delivers environmental and sustainable agriculture outcomes across a diverse landscape from Bunbury to Walpole and extending inland to Katanning, Dumbleyung and Narrogin. The organisation works collaboratively at a local, state and national level with a multitude of partners, including our Association Members, State and Local government, research institutions, Traditional Custodians and Aboriginal Corporations, and other non-government organisations.

The role

SWNRM is seeking two talented and inspirational Directors to join our Board of six, to help support, steer and shape the organisation into the future. The SWNRM Board of Management is an independent skills-based Board, responsible to our 11 Association member organisations to deliver strategic and aspiration outcomes. The Board is the primary decision-making committee of a governance framework modelled on current best practice. SWNRM is seeking applications from individuals who meet the requirements set out below, for election at the Annual General Meeting in November 2025.

SWNRM values diversity and inclusion on the Board and throughout the organisation. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, and people with diverse abilities. We are committed to create a workplace that reflects the communities we serve, where everyone feels respected, supported and empowered to thrive and we are seeking Board members that can help delivery on that commitment.

  2. 8. Previous experience on a Board of a complex community-based, or not-for-profit organisation

This is a remunerated position with the expectation of attendance at all Board meetings (minimum of 4 per year), with at least two being in-person within the SW Region, and in-person attendance at the Annual General Meeting. In addition, membership of sub-committees and attendance at those associated meetings may be required. We strongly encourage applicants who reside within the Region. If you reside outside of the Region, then travel is a requirement of this role. Travel is reimbursed up to a pre-determined level.
