The Opportunity

We are seeking a versatile Quality Engineer who brings the best of both worlds: strong manual testing capabilities combined with test automation skills. You will be embedded in an agile squad, helping to build and maintain a fit-for-purpose test framework, while also providing exploratory and manual testing coverage where automation is not yet feasible. This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide both manual and automated testing support across backend and frontend services
  • Build an automated test framework with developers if required
  • Conduct manual testing for areas that cannot yet be automated, ensuring coverage and quality
  • Collaborate closely with developers, BAs, and product owners in an agile squad environment
  • Contribute to test planning, risk assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Frontend: React
  • Automation Tools: Playwright, Cypress (exploratory – nice to have)

What You'll Bring

  • Strong experience in both manual testing and test automation
  • Comfortable building or contributing to automated test frameworks from scratch
  • Knowledge of modern programming languages like Java or Kotlin
  • Exposure to frontend technologies such as React
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
