An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian (Mental Health & CAMHS) to join our busy Mental Health Dietetics Service based at South Essex. Our friendly and growing team is ready to welcome new team members who share our passion for improving access and the quality of care for people with Mental Health conditions in MH inpatient units, community settings and CAMHS. The working hours are 18.75 hours per week and flexible working can be agreed.
Candidates looking for Band 5 developmental positions will also be considered. The post holder will take a clinical role in the CAMHS & Mental Health Dietetics team within the EPUT MH Services and will work as a dietetic practitioner within uni-professional and multi-professional team environments with regular supervision.
They will be working as part of the integrated team of therapists to provide specialist assessment and management skills of a dietitian, working with other MDT members to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. There will also be the opportunity to provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and students.

Responsibilities- Provide all aspects of specialist nutritional or dietetic advice, treatment and support to service users, taking into account their mental, psychological, emotional and physical needs. Deliver an age-inclusive service for adults of working age and older adults in mental health services and CAMHS and provide interventions in accordance with the Trust Eating Disorder Pathways.
- Take responsibility as a specialist practitioner with a high degree of autonomy for planning and delivering treatment for service users on your own caseload, under the supervision of senior specialist dietitians.
- Work as a member of multidisciplinary teams, contributing to treatment and specialty care plans, and act as a source of expertise on dietetic/nutritional management to service users, carers and other health professionals in a variety of settings including Trust premises and community locations.
- Participate in peer group supervision and support, contribute to training, supervision and support of other colleagues and students, and may lead clinical audits or undertake research.
- Provide supervision or management of Students, Basic Grade Dietitians and Dietetics Assistants within your professional group and team locality in line with Trust HR processes.
- Collaborate with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners in delivering a 7-day-a-week, 24/7 service where appropriate.
- Demonstrable interest in CAMHS & Mental Health Dietetics; willingness to be part of a dynamic, motivated team.
- Be prepared to work within a multidisciplinary team with regular supervision and development opportunities.
- Flexible working and ability to adapt to service needs; Band 6 or Band 5 developmental posts considered as stated.
