Superintendent - Mining Improvement (Expatriate Overseas)

Chifeng Gold's Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. In support of this growth, we are looking for Superintendent – Mining Improvement to join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future.
This role reports to the Manager – Mining Operations; it is responsible for managing the Sepon Mine Operations Centre (MOC) and its Mining Operational Technologies (MOT), as well as for the Continuous Improvement of the Mining Department. The role involves driving continuous improvement across departments, analyzing and integrating production and costing data for the Mining Departments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage all MOC and MOT resources
- Manage all MOT vendor service agreements and ensure all services are being met
- Cost management champion for the department
- Prepare budgets and forecasts as required by the business
- Perform training and coaching in the use of MOT
- Support development and implementation of best practices for mine management systems to improve site productivity and reduce costs, while facilitating global reporting
- Develop KPIs for MOT Engineers or system users and integrate other site systems through the MOC platform to centralize processes and applications
- Manage the LOM of the MOC hardware and software
- Develop AFEs for departmental capital expenditures
- Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives within the Mining department
- Assist in developing and deploying business improvement methods and tools
- Identify opportunities for improvement projects and develop effective project scopes
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- At least 8 years' experience in open cut and underground mining
- Experience delivering high-level continuous improvement projects at other mine sites
- Proficiency in MS Power BI, SQL Server Databases, and Fleet Management Systems
- High self-motivation and passion for technology
- Previous expatriate experience is highly desirable
- Ability to build strong interdepartmental relationships to ensure cross-departmental achievements
