Kitchen Steward - Casual role at Scape Australia

We are a leading provider of student accommodation in Australia with a growing capacity to provide a home to 19,000 students. We deliver a safe, engaging environment to help students make the most of their studies.

About The Role

As the Kitchen Steward, you will support the Head Chef and work within the Scape Eats Team to deliver high quality service and food to our student residents.

You will operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools in the Eatery and ensure the kitchen is well maintained and organized at all times. You will carry out general cleaning, washing and storage of crockery and cutlery, manage the operation of the commercial dish machine, and assist kitchen operations with basic food preparation as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaging self-starter who is passionate about delivering strong customer service and working well in a team environment. The following skills and experience are preferred:

  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience operating a commercial electric dish machine
  • Experience with cleaning methods for different metals and surfaces
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Positive and can-do attitude
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently
  • Strong awareness of Hygiene & Food Safety Standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to follow instruction
  • Working With Children (Employee) Check (WWCC) and confirmation of COVID Vaccination prior to commencing employment
