We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Supply / Trades Assistant to join us in our Operations and Maintenance team in Mount Isa on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Team Leader Power Maintenance, you will play a key role in providing operational supply chain (inventory management, purchasing and logistics) duties and trade assistant services for Diamantina power facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering predictable and reliable day to day supply chain services including activities associated with inventory, stock takes, purchasing, materials handling & packaging / warehousing / transportation for the Transmission and Power business units
• Hands on approach to trade assistant duties. Training provided in specific site activity eg chemical site management including an operational view on site chimerical testing.
• Supports the maintenance of stock levels, administering Maximo open purchase orders, expediting outstanding purchase orders and arranging transport of materials for the Transmission and Power business units
• Maintaining main warehouse and having oversight of remote store locations.
• Identification and management of supply chain risks
• Developing and maintaining appropriate contacts and relationships at all levels within business units and externally with suppliers

Your background

High level of inventory, warehouse , logistics and purchasing practices.Strong mechanical knowledge or experience in trades assistance roles. Hands on approach.High level of business, financial literacy and computer knowledgeLead warehouse health and safety activity's, drive safety in your spaceCommunication – ability to effectively communicate with, persuade and influence othersOperation of Forklift and other MHE and ability to unload bulky and sensitive freight
