What you'll do
  • Assess and approve death, terminal illness, and permanent incapacity claims in line with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Review insurer-declined claims, participate in review meetings, and advocate for fair and just outcomes for our members.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal teams to ensure insurance and claims administration is timely, accurate, and compliant.
  • Identify trends, risks or issues and proactively escalate or resolve them.
  • Manage workflow and competing priorities to finalise claims efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date claims documentation, templates, and registers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance both processes and the member experience.
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience in a similar role, insurance/claim management/administration (ideally within superannuation or insurance).
  • Strong knowledge of insurance settlement processes, superannuation law, the SIS Act, and RG146 compliance.
  • Sharp analytical skills — able to interpret data, identify trends/areas of concern, and make well-informed decisions.
  • High level of compassion and excellent communication skills — you can explain complex decisions with clarity and care.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with members during challenging, emotional times.
  • Strong organisational skills — you're calm under pressure, with the ability to juggle tasks without compromising quality.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced).
  • Qualifications in law, business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
