Payroll Officer role at Sharp & Carter.

Location: Melbourne CBD. 5 days in the office. Salary: $80,000 + Super + bonus. Benefit: Up to 2 weeks of extra annual leave.

About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will deliver accurate, timely, and efficient payroll services for a large workforce. This is a hands-on role in a shared services environment, processing end-to-end payroll for staff covered by multiple EBAs and awards.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-site workforce
  • Process timesheets and leave requests in accordance with EBAs, awards, and payroll procedures
  • Review and verify payroll data, resolve exceptions, and ensure database integrity
  • Manage new starters, terminations, variations, and retrospective adjustments
  • Administer superannuation, taxation, and other statutory obligations
  • Handle escalated payroll queries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting
  • Mentor and support less experienced payroll staff
  • Contribute to process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
About You
  • Proven end-to-end payroll experience in a medium-to-large organisation
  • Strong understanding of EBAs, awards, and payroll compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail, numeracy skills, and accuracy under pressure
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in shared services or large team environments desirable
  • SAP and Time & Attendance system experience advantageous
