- Part-time Medical Receptionist role - learn and earn on the job while completing a medical practice qualification.
- Flexible online study - upskill with either a fully funded Certificate III in Medical Administration or a Certificate IV in Medical Practice Assisting (eligibility applies) via UNEpartnerships.
- On-the-job training and support - receive ongoing training from a Practice Management Educator and study support via a Traineeship Support Provider.

- Handle patient appointments, administrative tasks, and health records.
- Process claims, payments, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception and waiting area.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
Eligibility for the Traineeship and Fee-Free Subsidy
- Be 15 years or older, no longer at school, and living / working in NSW.
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or NZ citizen.
- Commit to ongoing study and completing the traineeship qualification.
UNE Course Recommended Pathways
Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration) (1 year)
- Suitable if you have completed Year 10 or a Certificate II qualification.
Certificate IV in Medical Practice Assisting (2 years)
- Suitable if you have completed Year 11 or a Certificate III qualification and are interested in clinical skills to assist with treatment procedures.
Additional course requirements include approximately 15-18 hours of study per week, good communication skills, motivation for independent learning, and internet access. You may bring your own laptop or use a provided work laptop.
