You will contribute to delivering a high standard of living and care for residents as part of a large, privately owned aged care provider with over 40 years of experience across 29 facilities in Western Australia.

Aegis has a focus on job security, progression, and flexibility. As a Cook you are a valuable member of the team, working under the direction and support of the Chef Manager.

Location

This role is at our Shorehaven Facility, situated in Shorehaven, Alkimos. The facility features an innovative coastal design with state-of-the-art equipment to support staff and residents.

About The Role

A working day will involve:

  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Preparing residents' meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
  • Managing receipt of stores and food storage according to relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are observed.
About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Can supervise, organise and guide staff to deliver high-quality catering outcomes.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
You Should Possess The Following
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for a large number of people.
  • Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
  • A high level of food safety knowledge.
  • Full Australian working rights and ability to pass national police clearance.
