Overview

Full Time – 12 Month Fixed Term

Location – Brisbane, Eight Mile Plains – Onsite

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a full-time Workplace Health & Safety Advisor for a 12-month fixed term position based in our Brisbane office. The role involves developing, documenting and implementing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO standards, legislation and promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety to develop health and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to develop and work to a project plan in developing and implementing required policies and procedures within EH&S
- Engage with key stakeholders and internal client groups to ensure the EH&S policies and procedures respond to business needs whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory standards
- Manage and support the implementation and delivery of the EH&S policies and procedures to align with Cook’s EH&S Program
- Undertake gap analysis against ISO standards and local legislative requirements
- Prepare high level of correspondence and documentation
- Drive continuous improvement in EH&S and Cook’s safety systems and culture

Qualifications

- Workplace Health and Safety Qualification (minimum Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety) essential
- Proven experience developing and implementing policies in Workplace Health and Safety within the medical device, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or other highly regulated industry
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, standards and safety management systems essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to prioritize, set goals and deliver outcomes
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is preferred
