About the RoleThis position advances the Galleries' educational and public engagement goals by liaising with schools to implement targeted strategies and programs, including developing education kits, lectures, guided tours, and other resources as directed by the Creative Director Galleries.
The role involves coordinating artists, trainees, and volunteers to support public programs and educational activities that align with the Galleries' mission and enhance community presence. Working within the Education and Programs team, the Officer helps plan and deliver initiatives across gallery venues and outreach in schools, community organizations, and public events.
About YouThe ideal candidate will have :
- Tertiary qualifications (Art History, Museum Studies, or related arts field) and/or substantial experience in a similar gallery or museum role.
- Current Queensland "C" class driver's license.
- Current Queensland Working with Children and Young People Blue Card.
- Good knowledge of visual arts, especially related to programs and educational activities within a regional gallery.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the Galleries Team to achieve strategic goals.
- High enthusiasm and ability to learn and create innovative workshops for quality customer experience.
- Capability to coordinate complex projects and deliver educational and public programming initiatives.
- Strong visual communication skills focused on audience development.
- Proven ability to plan, develop, and meet deadlines independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in design software and Microsoft Office suite.
