  • Base Salary : commencing from $63, Grade 6, step 1)
  • Level 2 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance : $2,622.36 per annum
  • 12% superannuation
  • Total salary package : $73,772.00.

The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within this position.

Council Overview

Strathfield Council is a medium sized Council located in Sydney's Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 60,000 by 2041.

About the Opportunity

Strathfield Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Street Sweeping Team Member for a new position within a new team.

The role involves delivering high-quality street sweeping services across the Municipality, to help keep our Municipality clean and safe. In this practical, hands-on role, you will be responsible for delivering daily street sweeping services, operating equipment safely, and supporting continuous service improvement as part of a dedicated team.

Essential Requirements

Basic working knowledge of procedures or practices in one function. General Schooling, Year 12 Standard or specialist training in one specific subject or skill e.g. completing a TAFE Certificate Levels 1 & 2.A current Class C Driver's License.Ability to work early shift and flexible hours as required.Ability to communicate to a level that enables the accurate interpretation of instructions.Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team and independently without close supervision.Possess and maintain a level of physical fitness sufficient to undertake the activities of the role.Demonstrated commitment to a self-directed work environment and ability to take initiative to ensure gainful and productive work for each working day.Understanding of and commitment to quality customer service.

Desirable

Certificate for General Construction Induction (CIC – White Card) NSW.Experience in the use of handheld equipment, operation and driving the full range of street cleaning equipment, plant and trucks.Experience in driving various vehicles and plant for operation.Experience in Traffic Control Work.
