
General Cover Teacher

We are seeking a reliable and adaptable General Cover Teacher to provide high-quality teaching across a variety of subjects and year groups. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled educator who enjoys variety and is confident stepping into different classrooms. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as General Cover Teacher:
Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 if required)
Maintain a positive, well-managed learning environment in every class
Ensure work is completed and learning objectives are met during teacher absences
Follow school policies, including behaviour management and safeguarding procedures
Provide brief feedback to departments on pupil progress and engagement
Ideal Cover Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent
Strong classroom management and adaptable teaching skills as General Cover Teacher.
Broad subject knowledge and the ability to teach a variety of topics confidently
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Recent secondary teaching or cover experience preferred
