The role-

LGT is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education and Care Practitioners or teacher for our Gordon Square Education and Care, George Town. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while working in a supportive, nurturing environment.

  • Part time, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Long Day Care
  • Immediate start

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high quality care for children with a focus on ensuring health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Create and implement an educational, developmentally appropriate program based on the approved learning framework
  • Support children to understand nutrition and ensure all children have access to adequate food and water throughout the day
  • Lead and contribute to conversations and reflections about the needs and development of children and use professional knowledge to improve practices
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately, with children of various ages, families and other Educators.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and stimulating environment where all educators and children are protected from hazards and harm

What you'll bring:

  • Understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework, which includes National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong, respectful, and open communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • ACECQA-approved Certificate III, Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards) or qualified Early Childhood teacher.
  • A current Tasmanian Registration for Working with Vulnerable People (child-related activity – childcare services category) and the ability to obtain a current National Police Check
