Randstad recruitment has partnered with the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning to recruit a Project Manager A08 based in Mount Isa, Queensland. This role is residential only, with assistance with relocation offered.

It is a flexible, full-time, non-permanent contract role that includes superannuation and leave loading.

The State Development regional teams across Queensland coordinate initiatives such as departmental programs and workshops to link industry and regional businesses, aiming to grow regional supply chains and increase productivity.

Your Team

Join a team making a difference by leading industry development and regional programs aligned with the Department's strategic plan. This includes initiatives to enhance the international competitiveness of Queensland's defence, aerospace, space, super yachts, hydrogen, bio futures, biomedical, mining equipment, technology and services, and resource recovery industries.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop regional project plans and proposals aligned with opportunities and strategies in consultation with regional stakeholders.
  • Implement, monitor, and report on activities within the EDS, RTS, and structural adjustment programs.
  • Lead complex procurement matters.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, policy documents, presentations, publications, and correspondence.
  • Represent government policy in external forums.
  • Assist industry and facilitate interaction with other agencies and levels of government.
  • Manage stakeholders and engage with industry to identify and address emerging issues and opportunities, managing competing priorities.
  • Foster a team culture that values performance, client service, shared purpose, continuous improvement, and innovation.

About You

You hold a tertiary qualification in economics, statistics, or a relevant discipline, with a minimum of four years' experience in economic and business development. You have a proven track record working with external partners to deliver projects with quantifiable economic outcomes. High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to connect effectively with key decision-makers in government and business are essential.
