2026 State-wide Advanced Trainee/Fellow - Paediatric General Medicine

  • Classification – MDP2 - Total Indicative Remuneration - $105,751 to $171,579
  • Full time - Term Contract (2 Feb 2026 to 4 Feb 2029)
  • Multiple positions available within Women\'s & Children\'s Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation to Advanced Trainee Paediatric General Medicine will be determined in line with your training and SA Health\'s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills, and capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Participating in at least two outpatient clinics per week
  • Leading teams on a daily basis to ensure a comprehensive process of admission, management & discharge for patients admitted under the clinic, and participate in the 08:30 handover meeting
  • Assessing and managing acute emergencies and arranging for appropriate ongoing management
  • Participating in the Department\'s teaching and continuing education program, and contributing to quality management activities within the Department
  • Managing the General Medicine Department TMO roster and coordination of Paediatric after-hours cover in conjunction with the nominated General Medicine Consultant and the TMO Unit
About You
  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
  • Clinical experience and competence in the practice of paediatric medicine
  • Ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills (clinical and individual)
