Our Team
The Enforcement Team is a small professional team in the branch that provide support through investigations and enforcement responses.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to undertake compliance assessments and investigations, prepare and present evidence for use in legal proceedings and provide recommendations and advice on enforcement matters.
You will conduct routine, high profile, and sensitive investigations and be responsible for the appropriate taking of evidence, delivering briefs of evidence, and production of Show Cause and Enforcement notices. You will also conduct interviews, prepare and present evidence in court.
In this role you will also lead small teams and contribute to the development of programs designed to reduce the risks associated with Council's regulatory obligations.
In this role you will
- lead delivery and coordination of investigations
- contribute to a multi-disciplinary team including mentoring, coaching and training
- identify trends, analysis and contribute to enforcement planning and activity
- provide quality and timely delivery of reports, briefing notes, and investigative reports
- review of investigations, policy, procedures, and business improvement strategies
- liaise with stakeholders and colleagues regarding legal advice and preparation of relevant documents.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council's Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence
- highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- proven project management and organisational skills
- demonstrated knowledge and experience leading investigations
- a sound understanding of obtaining evidence, interviewing suspects/witnesses and preparing briefs of evidence
- proven ability to interpret statutes, policies, regulations and guidelines
- a demonstrated customer service focus with well-developed analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
