At Randstad Defence, we're proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)—a leading force in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced defence systems— currently seeking a Technical Procurement Officer to join their team in Canberra. The candidate must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities- Analysing specifications and drawings, and sourcing and requesting quotes for supply of make-to-order materials and components for EOS production requirements.
- Communicate with vendors regarding specification and quality issues and request concessions, following EOS DS processes and procedures.
- Work with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives.
- Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production. Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required, and update systems.
- Liaise with relevant EOS DS stakeholders as needed to resolve queries and to ensure all required information is available to complete the RFQ and purchase process.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
- Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded
- CIPS accreditations are highly regarded.
- Comprehensive experience in international sourcing and procurement.
- Experience in interpreting requirements of, and sourcing products and materials using engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience working with ERP systems and MRP systems.
