The Master will be responsible for the daily efficient operation of the vessel whilst maintaining excellence in safety, reliability, and staff customer service at all times. The primary function of this role is the safe and efficient operation and navigation of company vessels. This position requires working as a leader of a team, with high standards of interpersonal and organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven safe ship handling and management skills.

The Master must ensure the vessel maintains compliance with all relevant local and international laws and company policies and is responsible for the implementation and verification of the Safety Management System on board.

• Driver's license – Essential
• Confined Space certification – Essential
• Working Safely at Heights – Essential

• Responsibility for safety, pollution prevention, and efficient vessel operation
• Reporting safety or environmental issues directly to the Operations Manager or DPA
• Implementing safety and environmental policies, motivating the crew, issuing clear orders, and reviewing safety activities
• Reporting defects and matters affecting safe operation or pollution risk
• Onboard training coordination as per SeaLink's SMS
• Assigning roles respecting company policies and procedures
• Ensuring SMS compliance and documentation updates
• Reviewing contingency plans and vessel procedures
• Reporting non-conformities and hazards, completing paperwork timely
• Maintaining up-to-date vessel and crew certificates
• Conducting stability and related calculations for vessel safety
• Ensuring passenger comfort and satisfaction
• Conducting weekly crew meetings and daily prestart meetings, documenting all
• Conducting safety drills as per SMS

This role requires working outside normal hours, flexible shift times, and may include deckhand work. A thorough knowledge of vessel operations is essential. The role works closely with the Operations Manager and Scheduler.

This is a key leadership role requiring energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling, and time management skills.
