Construction Lawyer

The Role :

Due to continued growth, Cooper Grace Ward has an excellent opportunity for a driven and highly skilled Construction Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience in construction law, with a focus on project advice, contract negotiation, and drafting. Experience with infrastructure agreements would be a bonus.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide project advice to developer clients and large asset owners.
  • Prepare consultancy agreements, project term sheets, letters of intent, early works agreements, ECI and EPC contracts, tender contract documentation, and ancillary agreements.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate civil and building construction contracts for various property developments and infrastructure projects.
  • Advise contractors and subcontractors on tender submissions and contract negotiations.
  • Assist clients with infrastructure planning, funding, and agreements, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Support litigation team in tribunals on issues like security, retention, variation claims, and defects.

About You :

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction obligations supporting major projects.
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating construction and infrastructure agreements.
  • High attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Excellent client service skills and relationship-building ability.
  • Effective communication skills.
