We are excited to be looking for an enthusiastic QA Manager to join our dynamic team at our busy Dubbo Manufacturing site. This business-critical role is responsible for leading the improvement and management of the site's compliance initiatives, quality & food safety standards & the Quality Assurance Team.
More importantly, this position is key to improving quality through a clear systems-focused approach and also achieving and maintaining high levels of Quality & Food Safety awareness on the site by driving engagement at all levels. We have recently rolled out I-Leader and firmly believe that maintaining our Quality Standards begins with our Production teams - so being collaborative is essential.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager with a dotted line to the Head of Quality for ANZ, you will be working in a team that is passionate about doing things well and working together to achieve our goals. No two days will be the same, but with a team that believes in working together, you will have the support you need to ensure our equipment runs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities in this role include:
Maintaining Quality Standards:
- Maintain and monitor Quality Assurance objectives and activities supporting and complimentary to RPFC's corporate business plan and policies.
- Design & implement the Quality & Food Safety Strategy throughout the site to support delivery of the broader business objectives & goals
- Develop, implement, maintain and enhance the Quality Assurance System and documentation.
- Lead execution, design, implementation, improvement & management of the site's hygiene, sanitation & GMP Programs
People Management:
- Facilitate a positive change culture in the workplace - You are known for leading by example and working in an office is not your preferred style. You regularly get out onto the production floor and naturally engage your team and operations to build positive and respectful relationships.
- Coordinate the training of your team to ensure a correct balance of skills is maintained and any future needs met by having clear succession plans in place.
- Provide coaching and leadership to high performers to ensure they are developing and have clear growth pathways for their career development where appropriate.
- Manage performance and disciplinary issues in line with agreed Performance Management Process.
Health, Safety and Environment:
Provide and maintain systems of work and working environments that are safe and without risks to health. This includes making proactive recommendations and offering/presenting solutions to the Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance Department Management to improve quality and work efficiency, and participate in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have proven QA Management experience in an FMCG business with staff management responsibilities. No two days are the same with our business operating 24/5 and at pace. Because of this pace it is expected that our QA Team keep up with and support the rate of change on site
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in Quality Systems and Internal Auditing Processes within the Food Manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capability including positive interpersonal skills, ability to influence, negotiate, resolve conflict and stakeholder management
- Ability to lead a food manufacturing site towards quality improvement and maintain and improve those processes
- Prior experience in leading audit preparation, maintenance and improvement initiatives
- Experience in various systems and standards such as: HACCP, SQF as well as the associated documentation compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology or an equivalent or a related discipline/ Auditor qualifications highly regarded.
