Who are we looking for?

We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Purchasing Officer to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. If you're a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you're the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.

Your role

In This Role, Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Manage end-to-end purchasing, from order placement to delivery, in line with company policies.
  • Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure expectations, timelines, and requirements are met.
  • Maintain inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing cost and excess stock.
  • Respond promptly to urgent and AOG requests, ensuring fast turnaround and accurate quoting.
  • Source competitive suppliers, maintain purchasing records, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders and customs for inbound deliveries and clearances.
  • Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and credit card transactions.
  • Organize returns, replacements, and support warranty processes when needed.
  • Ensure safe and compliant handling of company and customer-owned materials.
  • Support stock control through regular variance checks and stocktakes.

The essential requirements
  • Experience in purchasing or logistics, preferably in aviation or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of aircraft materials and supply chain practices.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of dangerous goods handling (DG certification is a plus).
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Valid work visa; and
  • Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain).
