Security Operations Team Manager

About The Role

One of Kinetic IT's largest and most high-profile accounts is seeking a Security Operations Manager to join their team based in East Perth.

This key role involves leading and overseeing the delivery of security services, ensuring customer satisfaction across the account. The manager will lead a team of security professionals and coordinate with third-party partners to ensure effective delivery of Threat Intelligence, Threat Response, Vulnerability Management, and other critical security services. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, innovation, and alignment with the customer's strategic security objectives.

Responsibilities include:

1. Oversee SIEM and Microsoft Defender operations, including log ingestion, threat detection, CTI integration, and cyber event response.
2. Lead and manage the Security Operations team delivering Protect+ services, including Threat Intelligence, Threat Response, Threat Hunting, and Vulnerability Management.
3. Manage Major Incident Management (MIM) processes for cyber-related incidents.
4. Collaborate with alliance partners to deliver Vulnerability Management services, including detection, reporting, governance, and remediation prioritization.
5. Coordinate Penetration Testing activities and ensure actionable outcomes are integrated into security operations.
6. Provide thought leadership and drive the implementation of SOC Uplift initiatives, including cyber-forensics and purple teaming capabilities.
7. Define and refine cybersecurity services in collaboration with customer stakeholders.
8. Manage third-party partner relationships (e.g., Tenable, SIEM providers) to ensure seamless daily operations and service delivery.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
10. Encourage open communication and collaboration within the SOC team and with other teams, sharing security insights, best practices, and lessons learned to enhance security posture.
11. Lead, coach, and develop the team to increase engagement and outcomes delivery.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience leading security operations teams in complex IT environments.
• Strong background in SIEM technologies, threat detection, and incident response.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and alliance partners.
• Success in delivering vulnerability management and penetration testing programs.
• Experience in defining and implementing SOC capabilities and uplift initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Security-related certifications are highly beneficial.
