Overview

We are seeking experienced Substation Primary Designers to support a strong pipeline of substation and renewable projects across Australia. This is an opportunity to be part of the energy transition, working on high-profile projects that will shape the future of power systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review detailed electrical designs (HV layouts, elevations, assembly drawings, equipment schedules)
  • Draft using industry software (Microstation preferred, AutoCAD/Revit also valued)
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver efficient, reliable designs
  • Ensure QA processes and compliance with Australian standards
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Deliver projects on time and in line with client requirements
About You
  • 10+ years' experience in substation primary design (consulting or utility background)
  • Strong knowledge of HV equipment, substation standards, and Australian regulations
  • Proficiency in drafting software packages (Microstation, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
