Overview

HammondCare Waratah is currently looking for a Part time Service Support Employee - Kitchen Assistant to join our team. HammondCare has a unique model of care which places the resident's needs as our number one priority. As part of the Support Services Team you will support our model of care by delivering high quality services within the Kitchen to our residents in accordance with the organisational mission and mission in action statement.

To be successful in this role, you will be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including weekends. Experience in preparing and cooking within an Aged Care environment would be advantageous. Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative. Follow all cleaning guidelines and schedules for all equipment and working surfaces. Demonstrated understanding of safe manual handling and standard precautions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understand safe food handling principles and how to create a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Kitchen operations to deliver high quality services for residents in line with the organisation's mission.
  • Follow cleaning guidelines and schedules for all equipment and working surfaces.
  • Apply safe manual handling and standard precautions in daily tasks.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative as required.
  • Understand and apply safe food handling principles to create a safe working environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience in preparing and cooking within an Aged Care environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when needed.
