Overview

Mechanic - Ryde role at Busways Group. Location: Ryde Depot, North Parramatta, New South Wales area as listed in the posting. This role focuses on maintenance and repair of the fleet to meet safety and quality standards.

Role Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, and assembling the fleet while ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times.
  • Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures.
  • Attend breakdowns and carry out field-related mechanical repairs.
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate safety or maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to all Work, Health & Safety requirements while performing duties.
  • Maintain clean workshop practices.
  • Report and repair all accident damage as required.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed.
What We Offer / Benefits
  • A$5,000 sign-on bonus (T&Cs apply)
  • Annual earning potential up to A$120,000+ with overtime loading and generous allowances (including superannuation)
  • Hourly rate: A$37.19 – A$42.96, depending on skills and experience
  • Tool Allowance: A$20.61 weekly
  • Attendance Allowance: A$30.15 for rostered hours
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5% – 20% (dependent on shift type)
  • Up to 5 weeks annual leave (dependent on shift pattern)
  • 15 days sick leave accrued annually and long service leave after 7 years
  • Ongoing training and development, including in-house heavy vehicle brake courses

Eligibility / Qualifications
  • Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
  • Experience in service and maintenance of vehicles (training provided to develop skills)
  • Adherence to WHS regulations and company policies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a team on daily maintenance and repair schedules
  • Proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Physically fit to perform role duties
  • Willing to undergo pre-employment medical check and Working with Children Check
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency or unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence
Preferred / Not Required
  • Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience (training and development provided)
