Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group's relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. IB&M Finance supports the business in providing financial control, financial analysis and insight, product control, regulatory accounting and related project and strategy implementation support.

Product Control is a global team responsible for the independent oversight and financial control of the Global Markets business. Key functions include oversight of all daily P&L production and analysis including attribution and commentary, month end accounting, General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations and other special tasks of the business across the full product range.

Do work that matters

The product controllers mandate is to maintain a strong control framework around daily P&L and financial reporting. In addition, developing relationships with Front Office & other stakeholder areas such as Risk and Operations will be a key success factor in order to promote the Product Control group as a trusted and respected business partner.

You will be reporting to Executive Manager Fixed Income & Rates Product Control, and your role will require a close working relationship with the rest of the Global Markets business, Risk Management and other IB&M Finance areas globally. You'll work closely with other members of the Global Markets Product Control team, which is made up of experienced Product Accountants with backgrounds across Markets businesses in a range of institutions globally.

We're interested in hearing from people who will aspire to

• Lead the daily and monthly P&L reporting and reconciliation for Commodities & Carbon desks.
• Partner with trading desks, finance, and risk teams to investigate and resolve trade, position, and cash exceptions.
• Drive system and process enhancements to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Provide strategic input into new product initiatives, including carbon markets and electricity expansion.
• Manage audit walkthroughs and support governance forums such as NFRC and PC forums
• Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and contribute to non-financial risk reporting

Other qualities you may possess include

• Typically 5+ years in Product Control or a closely related field, ideally at Senior Manager level
• Strong understanding of traded market risk products, including complex derivatives.
• Proven leadership experience with inclusive and outcome-driven style.
• Demonstrated success in delivering systems/process uplift and automation, VBA, SQL, Tableau Prep, PowerBI, Alteryx or other analytical and automation tools
• Deep knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks.
• VBA, SQL, Tableau Prep, PowerBI, Alteryx or other analytical and automation tools
• Accounting qualification – CPA, CA, CFA or similar
