Kruger State School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Schools Officer - Grounds & Facilities to join our team. This is an OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.

It is highly desirable, but not mandatory, that our next candidate has experience in the following:

• Operating machinery and tools effectively (e.g., tractors, mowers, etc.)
• Working independently and being results-driven
• Meeting the physical demands of the job
• Being approachable, helpful, and a team player
• Having prior experience in schools (preferred but not essential)

As the Schools Officer, Grounds & Facilities - Kruger State School, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance of school ovals through mowing, watering, and soil care; lawn and garden maintenance including weeding and use of insecticides and fertilisers; planting and caring for trees, shrubs, and gardens.
• General maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, and tractors, including arranging regular servicing.
• Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers, and fuel.
• Supporting duties like rubbish removal/disposal, setting up for school activities, and moving resources, furniture, and equipment.
• Attending to or arranging repairs and maintenance related to fences, paving, gates, and irrigation.
• Performing some administrative duties, including receiving goods, daily banking, postage, and maintaining an electronic jobs list.
