The Role

We currently have a full-time position in the role of Inventory Coordinator to join our Inventory Team, in Dandenong South, Victoria.

This hands-on role is responsible for inventory management and other operational-based functions for Woodhouse Timber at their Branch. Provides day-to-day accountability for stock inventory, monitoring volumes, flow, accuracy and corrective actions. The IC (Inventory Coordinator) will oversee inventory-related projects and assignments. This is a hybrid role which will also include supporting the warehouse operations on a daily basis as directed by the Warehouse Management Team. This role reports directly to the Warehouse Management Team (Warehouse Manager/ Supervisor) and has a strong working relationship with the Supply Chain team.

Principal Accountabilities

Safety

  • Safety-focused with general knowledge of WHS policies and procedures including injuries & related safety incidents;
  • Ensure adherence to the Woodhouse Timber Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including all relevant online training modules;
  • Adherence to all safety regulations, legislative requirements, safe work methods statements, SOPs and processes;
  • Promote total job safety and environmental awareness;
  • Ensure that hazards are identified, risk assessed, and control measures are planned and implemented in consultation with relevant employees and the State Operations Manager;
  • Supervise and train production staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols;
  • Assist with warehouse risk assessments including monthly site audit and WHS support, where requested;
  • Adherence to upholding WHS regulations.

Operational

  • Follow inventory best practices and other standard operations procedures;
  • Setting up and completing all stock cycle counts for each month. This also includes preparation and execution of yearly stocktake when required;
  • Approval/ rejection of pending updates on a daily basis;
  • Implement and control quarantined & damaged stock procedures including stock adjustments, secondary sales and isolation of products when required;
  • Assist with warehouse layout including zones, dedicated bins, bin rules, pick paths, minimum and maximum inventory and replenishment parameters;
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and provide rectification, including stock adjustments and provide IA codes to finance when required;
  • Resolution of daily ERP uploads, reconciliation errors and TRANS bins, for monthly close;
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and corrective action for inventory;
  • Communicate potential interruptions, out-of-stocks and oversupply to the Warehouse Management Team as well as the Supply Chain team for resolution;
  • Assist with relevant reporting, including but not limited to, racking reports (empty racking reports and 50% full racking report).
  • Assist with driving improvement in racking utilisation and reduction in equipment travel time;
  • Coordinate and follow through with credit process (RAs), including adjustments;
  • Assist with incoming goods received including containers and transfer;
  • Assist with outbound order scheduling, creating connotes/ manifests and booking transport;
  • Assist with sourcing minor materials and consumables as required, including but not limited to wrapping/strapping materials;
  • Participate in Woodhouse projects as directed by the Warehouse Management Team; and
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Warehouse Management Team including but not limited to picking/ packing, replenishments, loading and unloading, scanning PODs, editing, releasing and invoicing orders as examples.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Knowledge of inventory and supply chain coordination;
  • Experience in the use of RF scanners;
  • Ability to work autonomously;
  • Possess Yellow Card (scissor Lift) and Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain a forklift licence);
  • Excellent organisation and efficient time management skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions under pressure;
  • Experience with NetSuite (ERP) and HighJump (WMS), highly regarded; and
  • Certificate III Warehousing Operations, highly regarded.
Relationships
  • The Inventory Co-Ordinator reports directly to the relevant Warehouse Management Team;
  • Will consult with other business departments;
  • Work closely with the Customer Service and supply chain team; and
  • Interacts with WMS support or Woodhouse IT for system concerns/ changes.
