Finance Manager

This key role is responsible for driving strong financial outcomes, delivering strategic insights, and supporting operational excellence across a portfolio of critical infrastructure projectsKey Responsibilities Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to achieve strategic and financial objectives Deliver month-end reporting, project valuations, forecasts, and annual budgets in line with Group timelines Ensure compliance with Downer financial policies, including Delegation of Financial Authority (DFA), and support audit processes Lead and develop the sector finance team, including talent development, cross-skilling, and CPA/CA support Provide key insights and performance analysis to influence commercial and strategic decisions Drive cash flow, WIP, billings, and working capital management Support commercial processes including tender analysis, new contract setup, and financial modelling Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting, and process efficiency Key Focus Areas Cost and revenue ledger management Forecasting and earned value analysis Profitability and variance analysis Capital expenditure oversight Ad hoc performance and business reporting Strategic planning coordination Financial input into challenged or complex projects About You CPA or CA qualified, with a tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce Minimum 10 years' experience in financial/project accounting within large, complex businesses Strong understanding of long-term contract accounting and commercial frameworks Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Proficiency in ERP systems (JDE or SAP preferred) and strong Excel capability Experience with reporting/analytics tools (e.g.
