
Technical Operations Supervisor

This senior role involves liaising with Concrete / Quarry Plant Managers, utilizing laboratory technicians, and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and NATA requirements.
The Laboratory Supervisor will also be responsible for training and mentoring staff, ensuring health and safety, and maintaining high standards of testing and reporting for our ready-mixed concrete products.
The position offers overtime, productivity bonuses, and a potential annual salary of up to $110 K+, plus super, based on a 50-hour week.
Key Responsibilities : Build effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
Lead field-based concrete testers and laboratory operations.
Coordinate the review and purchase of safety-related resources and laboratory maintenance.
Develop and provide data for training and competency plans.
Measure and review the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations.
Manage corrective actions and continuous improvement suggestions.
Process and distribute test results and NATA certificates.
Plan and facilitate safety meetings and reviews.
Act as Laboratory Manager when required.
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of the laboratory.
Skills and Competencies : Extensive knowledge of NATA requirements.
High level of understanding of laboratory practices and testing principles.
Experience working with concrete products.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
Sound leadership and participative leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and QESTLab.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic project management and presentation skills.5-10 years of experience in a laboratory within the building industry.
Qualifications in laboratory operations are highly regarded.
