Overview

Operations Supervisor - Brisbane Container Park at DP World. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the planning, direction and control of the Brisbane Container Park operations to achieve customer requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner. This is a day shift role with hours of 6am-2pm and reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organise and manage the operations to ensure achievement of the operational plan in an effective, safe and timely manner
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, complete yard inspections and ensure safety standards and procedures are followed at all times
  • Ensure incident reporting and investigations are completed with actions closed in conjunction with HSE
  • Collaborate with the Container Planning team to prioritise customer requests to meet business needs and stakeholder expectations
  • Lead, motivate and direct employees to perform their functions in accordance with operational requirements and safety standards
  • Manage individual employee performance including discipline and training in conjunction with the Operations Manager
  • Ensure adequate security is maintained on site at all times
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and operating procedures
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
  • LF Forklift license with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Forklift Operator
  • QAP accreditation desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience leading and managing people
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements and obligations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • PC literacy; exposure to terminal control systems is an advantage
