About You As part of this role you will provide leadership to a team accountable to develop, implement and continually evolve a global multi-year Emerging Markets Procurement strategic roadmap and associated improvement initiatives which drives competitive advantage to BHP.
You will be part of the Emerging Markets, Tyres & Explosives team within Global Procurement, working closely with internal customers across all Assets and Functions, as well as new and existing Emerging Markets suppliers, to shape how BHP leverages the technology, innovation and cost advantages that non-traditional markets can offer.
Key Accountabilities: Leads a team accountable to develop, adapt and deliver BHP's emerging markets procurement strategy, project managing implementation plans, prioritising opportunities and making risk trade-off recommendations across categories and regions of spend, executed through the sourcing cycle.
Frames, evaluates and communicates risk-reward propositions of strategies, plans and decisions, improving investment methodologies, processes, capabilities and culture to enhance decisions and deliver impact.
Builds and manages strategic supplier relationships with prioritised suppliers that target realisation of value through innovation, risk sharing, R&D and active commercial partnerships.
Obtains the lowest Total Cost of Ownership for goods and services, value and quality using market research, supplier evaluation and fact-based negotiation to achieve business outcomes.
Collaborate across teams to ensure category and sourcing strategies effectively considers emerging markets value levers.
Applies intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning.
Mitigates people, community, human rights, environmental and climate risks across the value chain, in alignment with public policy and our sustainability and climate commitments.
About You 10+ years' experience in Procurement or related commercial roles.
Strong commercial acumen, demonstrating the ability to identify and embed innovative commercial models and solutions.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills Experience in strategic decision making.
Influencing skills and experience leading people not directly in reporting lines.
Building and leading an inclusive, high-performance team, with a strong focus on cultural development and Values.
