The Role : Club General Managers (CGMs) are primarily responsible for the overall performance & operations of the club.
This role will be integral in driving a culture of excellence, community, and high performance, working alongside our Executive Team, Regional Performance Managers, and Directors.
Key Responsibilities: Managing the club's overall budgets and financials, including Member Growth, EBITDA, and Retention strategies.
Overseeing a large gym with 3000+ members, including a Crèche, Retail & Apparel store, and Café.
Managing the day-to-day operations of the club, ensuring facilities are well maintained.
Recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining staff members.
Providing training, mentoring, and support for the Club Department Heads, and running weekly team meetings.
Overseeing staff rostering, approving leave, and managing payroll.
Using internal software systems like Clubware, Debit Success, and Gym Sales to ensure procedures are followed.
Planning and executing club events such as Open Days and 8-week Challenges.
Conducting statistical reporting and analysis.
What you'll need to succeed: Experience in a similar role managing a Big Box Gym with more than 20 staff and over 2,000 members.
Experience in a KPI-driven environment with a focus on achieving targets.
Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and help them succeed.
A growth mindset and passion for fitness and sales.
Problem-solving skills and resilience.
Excellent communication skills—listening, understanding, empathizing, and influencing.
Customer-focused with a drive for exceptional outcomes.
Ability to be a role model and embody health values and behaviors.
A proactive, reliable, and professional attitude with a strong work ethic.
Motivated, adaptable, and a team player capable of multitasking and taking initiative.
Computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems.
Ability to communicate policies and procedures effectively.
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain).
