We are recognized for providing the highest level of legal representation to those involved in the criminal justice process.
The Role We are looking for an experienced criminal advocate to take conduct of general and complex criminal matters.
You will be exposed to interesting and large complex criminal matters working autonomously.
Duties Advising clients regarding law and procedure Drafting advices and court documents Advising on case strategy and preparation Conducting defended hearings, sentence matters and other applications in the Local Court Conducting appeals, sentence matters and applications in the District Court Conducting trials and instructing counsel at trial Briefing various experts in preparation for trial Building and developing client relationships The Candidate A minimum of 2 years' experience in Criminal Law NSW Driver's Licence Appointment to the Legal Aid NSW Serious Crime Panel preferred Have an established and impressive track record of conducting their own advocacy in a variety of NSW Courts and tribunals Extensive experience in representing accused persons facing serious criminal charges.
Be client focused and have the ability to mentor junior lawyers Have the ability to work autonomously within a team structure Possess strong analytical, written and communication skills with a strong work ethic A commercial mind that shows leadership and an ability to rise to a challenge with high ethical standards This position would suit Sydney's best and brightest advocates, who will be rewarded with high quality legal work and a competitive salary.
