The PM leads the project team through the full life cycle, overseeing planning, budgeting, scheduling, and progress tracking.
The project plan defines how the work will be delivered, outlining the budget, timeline, schedule, roles, responsibilities, and key deliverables.
In this role, you will be accountable for the overall integrity and cohesion of the project, ensuring it remains aligned with strategic objectives.
You will develop, maintain, and manage the project framework, while reporting daily to the senior responsible owner, where allocated to support change delivery.
Plan, coordinate, and deliver projects effectively, including the management of interdependencies.
Proactively identify, raise, and manage project risks and issues.
Ensure realisation of project benefits while managing costs effectively.
Develop and maintain project plans, monitor progress, resolve issues, and initiate corrective actions as required.
Adhere to SS&C's governance and delivery frameworks, ensuring compliance throughout the project life cycle.
Maintain quality assurance standards and overall project integrity.
Manage the project budget on behalf of the senior responsible owner, tracking expenditure and benefits delivered.
Facilitate the appointment and coordination of project team members.
Deliver new products or services to the required quality, within agreed timeframes and budget.
Oversee allocation of shared resources and skills across the project.
Manage third-party contributions and vendor engagement.
Lead effective stakeholder communication and engagement.
Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
Partner with the business change manager (or equivalent) to support a smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
Initiate additional activities or interventions when gaps are identified or issues arise.
Report project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.
What You Will Bring: Strong networking, negotiation, and influencing skills Effective leadership with well-developed interpersonal and communication abilities Ability to command respect and foster a sense of community within project teams Solid knowledge of planning, monitoring, and control techniques for programs and projects Expertise in developing business cases and navigating approval processes Strong understanding of procurement practices, including third-party negotiation Proficient in program and project management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2)Sound knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation Sufficient seniority and credibility to guide and advise project teams at the program level Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues proactively Formal Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE2 (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Manager Proven ability to deliver IT, People, and Administration projects in Financial Services, ideally including transitions for investment managers, custodians, superannuation/pension funds, and M&A initiatives Demonstrated track record of planning, executing, and delivering large, complex projects/programs on time and within budget We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds to enable us to bring diverse perspectives to our thinking and conversation.
