Location: Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney Position Type: Ongoing / Non-ongoing Salary: $85,534 - $91,809 The Opportunity The APS5 Finance Officer will work closely within the Financial Operation, Reporting, and Compliance section to provide financial support for the agency.
You will coordinate requests critical to the team, including invoice payable/receivable, travel allowances, and corporate credit cards.
Tasks are carried out in accordance with ACIC policies and procedures, governed by the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).
Role responsibilities Prepare quality financial and management reports with supporting working papers.
Provide financial analysis and management advice to business areas.
Process end-of-month and end-of-year journals, reviewing financial information for correct treatment of costs.
Oversee efficient delivery of financial services, including accounts payable and receivables, travel, and credit card services.
Provide strategic financial advice to internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with other business areas to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Your skills and capabilities We invite applications from individuals with the following experience, skills, and attributes: Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and analytical ability.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and deliver high-quality advice to stakeholders, including Senior Executives.
Desirable skills and experience Knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework, principles, policies, and practices.
Accounting or relevant degree or qualifications.
Professional memberships such as CPA or CA.
Experience in government financial processes, financial software, administrative tasks, or contract management.
Eligibility Citizenship: Applicants must be Australian citizens.
Security Clearance: Successful applicants will need to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
Pre-Employment Screening: All candidates must pass an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA).
