About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent, full-time position available for immediate filling
The DPIRD Diagnostics and Laboratory Services (DDLS) group is looking for an operations Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of client and laboratory services, and improving operational systems, processes and policies in support of the DDLS operations.
In this role you will oversee the operations, triage service delivery and resources of the DDLS client services team, as well as the administration, human resource, records and finance processes including budget preparation/management and undertaking cost-benefit-analysis on internal operations.
We are looking for individuals with:
Demonstrated experience managing a scientific laboratory with broad knowledge of relevant scientific disciplines
Demonstrated management experience including management of human resources, financial and technical information and physical resources.
Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, to various stakeholders such as the public, industry groups and Government, with competent use of ICT applications such as databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
Experience delivery quality assured laboratory, technical and/or operational support services
Experience in veterinary, plant/entomology service provision or knowledge of animal and/or plant pathology would be favourable.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
