This role offers the opportunity to play a strategic advisory role across a diverse portfolio of developments and infrastructure initiatives.
This is a highly visible and team management role.
Key Responsibilities Provide legal perspectives that help shape project strategies and influence key business decisions.
Deliver pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice on major development initiatives, including land transactions, project planning, construction activities, and sustainability or infrastructure-related matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of project-related agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and alignment with business objectives.
Work closely with internal stakeholders including project delivery, operations, procurement, and technical teams to integrate legal considerations into all stages of planning and execution.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business.
Provide guidance on compliance obligations and implement proactive risk management measures.
Manage legal risks and handle contentious issues that may arise over the course of project lifecycles through effective resolution strategies.
Develop and improve internal legal processes to support the efficient negotiation and execution of contracts on complex, high-value projects.
Key Requirements Qualified lawyer with the ability to practise in a relevant jurisdiction.
Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in private practice or in-house roles related to large-scale projects, development, or infrastructure.
Strong technical understanding of real estate and construction agreements, infrastructure frameworks, and sustainability/energy-related contracts.
Effective communicator with the ability to simplify complex legal matters for non-legal audiences.
Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within legal teams or project environments.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align legal advice with broader business goals.
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
