We are seeking a Senior Cost Estimator with deep experience in shop fitouts and strong knowledge of Australian construction practices, to join our office in Penrith, NSWAbout the Role You will be responsible for leading the estimation process from tendering through to project handover.
This includes preparing accurate cost plans, sourcing quotes, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure project profitability and competitivenes Key Responsibilities Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender proposals for commercial fitout projects.
Review and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and scope alignment.
Provide cost input during design development, offering value engineering insights where needed.
Work closely with project and design teams to support financial accuracy through all project phases.
Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and historical cost benchmarks.
Assist with progress claims and cost-to-complete reports during construction delivery.
What We're Looking For3–5 years of experience in cost estimating or quantity surveying, with at least 2 years in Australian commercial/shop fitouts.
Excellent understanding of local building codes, construction standards, and market pricing in NSW and wider Australia.
Proficiency in estimating software such as Cost X, Buildsoft, or similar platforms.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and scope documentation.
High level of accuracy, commercial insight, and problem-solving capability.
Strong communication skills for dealing with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
