About the Role The Senior Associate, Research & Analysis role works directly with the Client, Credit Risk Executive and Relationship Management team to complete the broader credit assessment function and ensure an optimal 'well-managed' portfolio.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Corporate Banking clients with operations primarily within the Hospitality and Specialty Retail industries.
This involves responsibility for identifying and effectively managing risks inherent in the client's business model, industry, capital & management structure, and historical & forecast financial performance.
Client interaction relating to transaction execution and day-to-day account management is core to the position.

Role Type: 12 Months Fixed Term Role Location: Sydney Work Hours: Full Time What will your day look like? The primary activities of the role cover: Sound credit assessment including client performance evaluation, business model risk evaluation & mitigation strategies and proactive account management Preparing quality credit memorandums Development of credit strategy for organic growth opportunities, new-to-bank transactions and/or deteriorating credit profiles including deal structuring and execution.
Conducting financial modelling & analysis in tandem with client & industry research Risk grade event management Liaise with clients and Credit Risk executives on risk and financial performance related matters, including covenant compliance and risk grade review events Liaise with Product Partners to appropriately implement customer solutions Exercise CAD (when appropriate) and lending decisions Deal documentation Well Managed portfolio controls Mentoring and coaching to team members You will be directly supported by the Associate Director and Director (Research & Analysis) to support your learning and development.
What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Demonstrated financial analysis skills going beyond traditional accounting-based analysis to provide deep industry insight Sound credit skills with the ability to identify key business drivers and mitigate key risks including proposing recommendations where appropriate Demonstrated end-to-end deal execution across a diverse range of credit transactions Knowledge and application of credit policy and risk appetite frameworks Knowledge of Institutional Banking products and services Experience in customer management and broad knowledge of banking processes and procedures Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Economics Sound communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
