About Your Opportunity

Seqwater is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to join and lead the stepping up of our Cultural Heritage team. As Cultural Heritage Coordinator, you will guide and inspire a dedicated team to deliver sensitive and compliant cultural heritage practices across our operations.

Reporting to the Principal Catchment, Land & Heritage, you will lead the development of strategic frameworks, plans, and compliance systems, while fostering meaningful partnerships with Traditional Owner groups and statutory authorities. This role requires a collaborative leader with exceptional communication and mentoring skills, capable of providing expert advice on cultural heritage matters relating to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage.

Key responsibilities:
  • Facilitating the development of strategies, frameworks and plans to guide the delivery of Cultural Heritage products and services.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of cultural heritage compliance systems across Seqwater.
  • Partnering with Seqwater staff, to provide expert technical advice to Seqwater personnel on compliance matters relative to the capital and operational program activities which may impact upon Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultural heritage.
  • Leading discussions and negotiations with Traditional Owner groups and statutory authorities (State and Commonwealth) to establish working initiatives and agreements for compliance purposes.
About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Degree in archaeology, heritage management, heritage conservation, anthropology, or equivalent.
  • Significant demonstrated professional experience in a directly relevant position.
  • High level of understanding and working knowledge of applicable legislation and heritage practice.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical advice in relation to non-Indigenous and Indigenous cultural heritage management

This position has a salary range of $132,491.09 - $142,924.42 (dependent on skills and experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is a full-time permanent position.
