Founded in 1866 by Saint Mary Mac Killop and Fr Julian Tenison Woods, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart operates as a registered charity with central offices in Sydney, regional offices across Australia, and offices in New Zealand and Ireland, with a presence in some other countries.
The Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart (SOSJ) is a Catholic religious congregation, founded in South Australia in 1866, by Saint Mary Mac Killop and Father Julian Tenison Woods.
The Sisters, known as the Josephites, dedicate themselves to empowering others and bringing hope through their work in education and social services, especially in facing global and local crises with compassion.
Saint Mary Mac Killop is celebrated as a prominent Australian educator and social reformer.

The stories of her life and the congregation's founders are preserved in museums located in North Sydney, Adelaide, East Melbourne, and Hobart, which also offer conferencing and accommodation services managed by the Sisters' Spirituality Ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIESImplement collections management processes under the Museum Collections Manager's guidance, following established policies for cultural and historical objects.
Perform comprehensive audits and reviews of all collection items, including those on display and in storage.
Document, catalogue, and digitize collection items across multiple locations, adhering to museum standards.
Assist in preservation and conservation tasks according to best practices.
Operate and maintain the collections management database to ensure accurate and accessible records.
Conduct research to deepen understanding of the collection's historical and cultural significance.
Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
Build and maintain relationships with external organizations to promote the Mary Mac Killop Museums and develop networks.
Assist in managing project-specific budgets and develop financial plans as needed.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIAEssential Currently studying or qualified in Museum Studies, Cultural Heritage, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of cataloguing, documenting, or digitising museum or archival collections.
Effective working skills to achieve project goals.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Desirable Experience with cultural heritage or historical collections.
Experience using collection management databases.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
