The Role: As Finance Manager/Controller, you'll work closely with the General Manager and wider senior leadership team to provide oversight and support across all areas of the business.
This role plays a key part in driving process improvements, helping implement new systems, and supporting smarter, more efficient ways of working.
With a broad remit, you'll be involved in everything from helping shape strategy and future planning, all while ensuring the business is set up for continued growth and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities: To work with the External Accountant to produce monthly management accounts including Budgets, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow & profitability reporting.
This includes responsibility for assisting and advising bookkeeping staff on journal entries.
Work closely with the Directors and senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Drive process improvement initiatives across finance and operational functions to increase efficiency and scalability.
Lead the implementation and optimisation of financial systems, including ERP upgrades or new software rollouts.
(Note Summit Fencing is in the early stages of implementing Odoo ERP system).
Oversee all financial and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end and year-end results.
Deliver detailed financial analysis and insights to support business performance and identify opportunities for growth or cost savings.
Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning with operational goals and business plans.
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant tax, regulatory and audit requirements.
Mentor and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
