We're looking for a Group Accountant who brings strong technical expertise, a hands-on approach, and a passion for continuous improvement to support our corporate finance operations.
This full-time hybrid role includes 2 days per week at our Sydney office in Leichhardt - complete with an on-site barista to keep you fueled.
Please note: To be eligible, you must be located within commuting distance of Sydney and have full working rights in Australia.
What you'll be doing: As part of the Global Finance Team, you'll be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of month-end processes, group financial statements, and key tax and audit deliverables across multiple regions.
Working closely with the Head of Corporate Finance, the Head of Global B2 C Finance and Corporate and key stakeholders across the business, you'll play an essential role in maintaining financial integrity while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Supporting, supervising and managing one direct report, the Assistant Accountant, in their responsibilities.
Preparing half-year and year-end consolidated group financial statements (Caseware) Preparing NZ year-end financial statements and manage external consultants for overseas tax returns Leading the UK audit process and provide reviews of UK financials Preparing Australian and regional accounting tax calculations for reporting periods Coordinate annual, half-year, and interim audits - from timelines and task allocation to resolution of queries.
Review weekly cashflow forecasts Prepare key monthly financial deliverables including revenue and CFO packs, payroll tax, CAPEX, and P&L reconciliations Provide back-up support for weekly payruns and other ad-hoc finance functions What Success Looks Like: You'll know you're making a difference when: You're ensuring accurate and timely delivery of month-end processes (target: Day 5 close) ASX and statutory reporting deadlines are consistently met External audits are completed with minimal review findings You're achieving timely submission of accurate tax returns and supporting workpapers About You: You are a proactive, reliable, and technically strong finance professional who thrives on structure, precision, and follow-through.
You're confident navigating complex reporting environments, can manage competing deadlines, and bring a positive, solutions-focused mindset to your work.
You'll bring: Minimum 5 years' experience in finance, with at least 1 year in a similar role CPA (or equivalent) completed Solid experience preparing and reviewing financial statements Tax calculation knowledge (ideally using CCH software) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Net Suite or similar systems Strong technical understanding, communication skills, and attention to detail Full working rights in Australia You'll be someone who: Takes ownership and follows through – a true "finisher" Communicates clearly and works collaboratively Has a strong sense of accountability and strives for accuracy Looks for ways to improve processes and reporting Embodies our values: Make it Happen , Find Better Ways , and Lifelong Learning are core to your personal ethos.
