The Role We are seeking to engage a Senior Primary Substation Design Engineer for our Power Team.
This role can be based in either Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage risk on substantial projects Deliver best client outcomes which have provided cost savings Effectively lead small teams and contribute to building the technical capability of others Develop client relationships Provide advice and undertake key complex technical tasks with a high degree of independence across a broad range of small, medium and some large projects Successfully monitor and manage the scope and risk of multiple varying size projects and apply business systems Prepare complex technical reports and prepare successful proposals on small, medium and some large projects Utilise good time management skills with the ability to efficiently plan workloads and meet deadlines Effectively work across a variety of projects learning and applying new skills and knowledge quickly and efficiently Effectively manage client relationships and expectations Provide supervision to other staff Effectively engage key stakeholders to result in superior project outcomes which meet or exceed client expectations About You Suitable applicants will be/have: Tertiary Qualification in Engineering Minimum 8 years' professional industry experience in Primary Substation Design Ability to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature Proven ability to manage projects to scope, cost, time, human resources, communication, procurement, quality and risk.
Competent business planning, budgeting and commercial acumen An understanding of the business/organisation/marketing context of business solutions Maintaining an industry awareness Familiar with relevant Australian Standards and specifications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment Skills in undertaking a co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment Link to benefits: http://www.smec.com/en_au/careers/your-career-with-SMECHow to Apply All applications must be submitted online.
