Due to a recent internal promotion, we're now looking for an Engineering Leader (Internal Job Title is Area Engineer - Glass) to lead our Glass Packaging team.
This is a Permanent Full Time position based in our Tooheys Brewery in Lidcombe.
About This Role Reporting to the Area Leader – Glass, you'll lead a talented team of 8 (Trades, Packaging Specialists and Engineers) to drive asset reliability, equipment performance, and world-class maintenance practices.
With a clear focus on safety, efficiency, and innovation, you'll be delivering value every day through smarter systems, better processes, and engaged people.
Here's How You'll Make a Difference Champion Safety: Build a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with Lion's Safety Management System, and contractor management excellence.
Own Performance: Lead the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance, track KPIs (OEE, MTTR, ME, etc.), and continuously improve uptime and efficiency.
Lead Continuous Improvement: Be a driving force behind TPM activities, Lean tools, and digital maintenance systems.
You'll lead shutdowns, support NPD rollouts, and elevate our maintenance culture.
Deliver Capital Projects: Scope and execute CAPEX plans to future-proof our operations, contributing to a 3-year capital pipeline that supports growth and innovation.
Inspire a High-Performing Team: Develop and empower your team through coaching, performance reviews, and capability uplift.
Role model Lion's behaviours and foster a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.
What You'll Bring To The Team Proven leadership and coaching capability – you know how to lead, develop and get the best out of, and already high performing team (critical requirement)Engineering Qualifications (Mechanical, Electrical, or related) and a passion for the brewing or FMCG industry Prior experience in high-speed packaging or manufacturing environments A strong track record in maintenance and reliability, process improvement, and project execution Action-oriented, analytical problem-solving skills, and a mindset that challenges the status quo Hands-on experience with Lean, TPM, or similar systems.
