Our game is for everyone, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.About The RoleAn opportunity has arisen in the Work Health and Safety team for a Work, Health & Safety Lead to support the design, development and implementation of the health and safety management system across the national footprint of the AFL and Marvel Stadium.
The role works with a team of three permanent safety staff and six casual Event Safety Officers and is well connected into the Risk, People, Marvel Stadium, Football Operations and Game Development teams.This is a great role for a current health and safety advisor or lead with a few years' experience who has;a thorough understanding of Australian health and safety legislation, regulations and codes or practice.
experience in conducting audits, investigations, risk assessments and preparing reports.
experience in delivering safety training to a range of stakeholders.
strong stakeholder engagement skills to work alongside internal and external stakeholders.
excellent time management and organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise work in a busy environment.
well-developed oral and written communication skills.
an innovative approach with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
strong IT skills and an ability to learn and operate WHS software systems.
We operate the largest multipurpose stadium in Australia, so experience working across multiple sites and large capacity venues is encouraged but not essential.On Any Day You May BeManaging an incident management process or return to work process from end to end.
Reviewing, monitoring and improving safe working practices.
Including leading and managing workplace safety inspections, identifying and managing hazards, as well as the development and updating of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Proposing practical solutions to WHS issues considering relevant legislation, standards and guidance materials.
Develop policies in line with best-practice methodologies.
Support the WHS Lead-Marvel Stadium with the management of workplace safety at Marvel Stadium during event and non-event days/nights.
Support the WHS Manager with the management of workplace safety across AFL and AFLW events including Gather Round, the Brownlow, Footy Fest and the Grand Finals.
Building safety awareness and competency across the AFL and Marvel Stadium, including delivering training for leaders and team members.
Assist with the management of departmental safety risk assessments and risk registers.
In the event of an incident or emergency, provide administrative/supportive role as directed by the Chief Warden.
Participate in and take minutes of Safety & Wellbeing Committee meetings, distribute minutes and follow-up on action items.
